Quack, Quack.

Finished my stint of meter reading today.  I was supposed to do one of the major rounds in the car but a MR couldn’t get a late walk round completed yesterday so I had to finish it off.  I was home by 11am and happy to be off the track considering it was going to be 33c today.  It’s forecast to be 41c on Monday so I was extra pleased to be finished.

Received a note from LIT which said inter alia, “Thank you so much for your help and professionalism. Great when we can give you work and we know it will be reliably done”.  They know how to stroke Dogbait’s ego.

I was driving up the road this morning and came across these guys.  They were heading away from the lake but the solitude of the Nature Reserve ahead beckoned so hopefully they were heading there. Duck season is around the corner so they’d better get a wriggle waddle on.

Quack! Quack, Quack

  1. We got geese down at the lake that stand in the middle of the road and won’t move until you roll down the window and ask them what they want…

    “Quackers” of course…

So maybe after that bit of a rumble they are now called “Quakers Quackers”

Ducks and geese are not welcome around my area, they tend to gather at the water hazards at the golf courses and poop all over the greens. Several courses set out fake coyotes to scare off the water fowl, but it doesn’t work very well, you can see geese standing right next to the fake coyotes poopin’ their little butts off.

    Get your gun out, Annie.

  3. You must be considered a deity at LIT. When the feces impacts the oscillating air circulation machine, they go to a special altar to worship you and beg for the blessing of THE METERREADA. Sacrificing virgins, crawling prostrate across the temple stones, doing anything to pay homage to your talents and wisdom.

WOW! What a burden you must bear. ;)

PD – WOW, what an imagination and a way with words!

Shouldn’t that be “get a waddle on”?

I rescued 6 little ones just like that a couple of months ago. They’d fallen down a stormwater drain and couldn’t get out. Luckily it wasn’t raining, but I had to lie in the gutter to reach them.

Steve – You are right. Amended.

Never mind the ego, the wallets what appreciates being stroked. I have seen a line of traffic stop for Mum and her babies or a turtle, if only they would treat their fellow humans with the same consideration.

June – If the ducks were riding bikes, they’d be dead now.
