We get a lot of cockatoos around our place and this one stopped by for a drink. Flocks of the noisy sods regularily circle over our place before settling on the trees down by the lake.
I’m trying to clean the car and someone decides this is as good place for a nap. You’d think he’d avoid it like the plague considering the only time he gets in is to visit the vet or the holiday home. He is 15 now so maybe memory loss is kicking in.

Our sulphur crested cockies sharpen their beaks by chewing off the tops of all our Silver Birch, we have two huge walnut trees, and we haven’t had a walnut for years, they knock them off green! Hate their screech also, not our favourite birds!
Not a very popular bird with the cockies (if you’ll excuse the pun!)
I promise, no more comments on those subjects. Have a great trip.
We’ve just arrived as our nieces place and guest what’s for lunch. A very yummy zucchini soup.
See, that didn’t last long!
Is that honeysuckle growing on the fence?
Forgotten the name. Will get back to you.
Back again. It’s called Hardenbergia “Happy Wanderer“. It flowers in winter and this is last winter’s bloom.
I thought it was cape honeysuckle, but I didn’t think cape honeysuckle was so much a vine as it is a bush.
Maybe a honeysuckle and it comes out in purple flowers.
What color are the bearded iris when they bloom?
Blue.
Our cat will go into our car when the boot or one of the doors is open. We have to double check that we haven’t shut him in there if things have been left open for a bit.
The cockatoos are beautiful! I’d love to have them visit our garden!
The cockatoos will get up the gum trees on our property and next minute you will see small branches tumbling down as they tear at nuts.
Sam knows even at 15 he’s faster than you.Do you get Anthony Bourdain on the telly? He was in Turkey and part of the traditional meal was zucchini bread,as Turkey was the center of the Ottoman Empire their food comes from all parts of the middle east etc. With zucchini and back to school you could blog for years.
Don’t get Bourdain that I know of. No more blogging on zucchini and no more mention of school after 10 days. Off travelling again and China all organised so plenty of other things to blog about.
