This is my first post and just getting the feel of this bloggy thing. My initial reaction to the blog craze was one of puzzlement but I got to read a couple of excellent blogs by a Sydney cabbie, Man of Lettuce and Brian’s Brief Encounters, the tattles from a London copper.
It got me thinking that coppers, taxi drivers and meter readers had something in common in that we get out and about and see a lot of things so our lives aren’t entirely boring! I had visions of writing a book about this job (ha, ha) but maybe this blogging caper could be the answer in sharing some of the experiences of an electricity meter reader. Then again, maybe I’ll just be talking to myself, but what the heck, who cares. People say I love the sound of my own voice so maybe the same goes for my writing!
Welcome to the blogsphere. Yes, even the seemingly mundane can be interesting with a fresh perspective. If you love writing, then you’ll have lotsa fun. Good luck.–>
aaron, I can’t believe that someone actually read this! I only just started this blog and have been playing around with settings etc. My profile tells more of my life but I am an electricity meter reader in Victoria, Australia but our uniform makes us look like traffic wardens (we call them Compliance Officers here!) so I can have a bit of fun in that regard. You’ve just stirred my brain into more stories!!
I look forward to reading the great adventures that happen in your life at a meter reader.
Just to clarify a few things, what kind of meters do you read? Gas? Electric? or Parking meters (dear God, not a traffic warden!).
Keep up the good work!
