It’s fixed! Muslim Hacker has left the building! Did it take long to fix?

Not long. Restored a backup database and changed passwords and purged the beast. Just an irritation.

“Prawns usually have claws on three pairs of their legs, while shrimp only have claws on two” from Wikipedia, who knew? I always thought it the name difference was were like “crayfish,” some people call them crawdads, but I guess in the case of shrimp and prawns there is a physical difference. Sorry about the long lull with my comment Paradise Driver :o ) !

I won’t enter into this discussion because I’m not a partaker of these things and can’t profess to be an expert.

How can you not eat shrimp? Wait, significant other doesn’t eat shrimp either, his explanation is that prehistoric man was visited by beings from outer space, and they co-mingled their genetic makeup (catch my drift wink, wink, nudge, nudge?) He says he’s more alien therefore he does not eat things that come from the sea. Us seafood eaters are genetically closer to early man who crawled out of the primordial ooze so we like all things fishy. He usually says this with a straight face, I want to say why don’t you eat space garbage, but I control myself. :)

  3. May we please have a guest post by HM telling us about her first day of school?

    Would love to.

  4. Just curious…
At what size does a shrimp become a prawn?

And WTF is a “giant” shrimp?

I know I could google all this but I thought it would be more fun to start a discussion. :)

    No idea.

  5. Now if I am not mistaken, today (26-Jan-2010) is when your entire nation celebrates a certain Muppet’s Mother’s birthday. And if my calculations are correct she is…
well, lets just says she isn’t old enough to retire, yet. Just the dawn of a new day for her. ;)

Correct. The full monty with fireworks and aerobatic displays.

Seriously? No shrimps on the barbie! It’s one of the “hot” restaurant items here, they put shrimp on a wooden skewer and over cook them over an open flame so you get charred, fishy smelling chew toys on a stick. Not my favorite.

    We conned you guys then!

I suppose you don’t have Outback Restaurants in Oz either?

You’re right. An American thing. I’d probably cringe if I went into one.

      • Even worse than you could imagine. DB. The “imported” Aussie beer they serve is “Fosters”.

PD – Fosters Lager is a brand here too. Very popular up to the 1970′s but lost flavour (excuse the pun) with the public over the years at the expense of other brands like Carlton Draught and Victoria Bitter. It’s still brewed but hard to find. Brewed overseas under licence.

Well there’s another myth done in, all we hear is “shrimps on the barbie” .Don’t eat shrimps myself but it was another image of Oz.

The myth was perpetrated by Paul Hogan with the commercials trying to get you Yanks to visit Downunder. It was tongue-in-cheek as no one does shrimps on a barbie here.

The article mentions the Australians when they are in the southern states like them with tea. Also a disgusting thing done with peanuts, they (the southerners not the Australians) boil them in their shells and eat them hot. Enjoy your soup.

I presume you mean a cup of tea. Haven’t heard of it myself. We don’t put shrimps on the barbie either.

You had me worried for a minutes when you mentioned “disgusting things done with peanuts”

Thought it might be something they could do with the zucchini. The article say’s Australians like them with tea. I think i would need a shot of southern comfort.

Never heard of the tea thing. Maybe my mind is trying to block out anything to do with zucchini. Nevertheless, we’re having zucchini soup tonight which is a good brew.

Did you get the email on kool ade pickles?

I did. Haven’t had a chance to look at it.

Yeah, here it is, sorry I’m slow — the old gray matter isn’t what it used to be.

Good, you started the ball rolling. We could have frolicking good fun here. Your grey matter is fine. What’s your name again?
